Men’s Golf Closes Fall at Confluence Classic

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Whitworth men's golf team closes out the fall schedule this weekend at the Confluence Classic in Walla Walla.

Tee times begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday. The tournament will be held at the Wine Valley Golf Club and the Veterans Memorial Golf Course.

The Pirates missed the team title by a single shot at the Northwest Conference Fall Classic last weekend. George Fox shot a 582 as a team to take first place. Three Pirates finished in the top ten. Will Alexander (74-70 - 144 (E)) was the Pirates top individual finisher, tying for third. Reilly Hegarty (70-75 – 145) finished eighth and Caleb Belton (78-68 – 146) tied for ninth.

Whitworth took third last year at the Confluence Classic. Sam Stiles shot 67-74 – 141 to tie for fourth and Belton (71-73 – 144) finished in seventh, both competing as non-counting individuals. JackRyan O'Neil (72-74 – 146) tied for ninth.

The Confluence Classic is the last tournament of the fall schedule for the Pirates. Whitworth will resume the 2019-20 season in the spring.
