Defensive Battle Leaves Pirates and Wildcats Scoreless

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Whitworth women's soccer team (3-4-2, 3-2-2) and Linfield College (6-2-2, 3-1-2) were both unable to put a goal on the board in Sunday afternoon's match in McMinnville, Oregon.

In 110 minutes of play the Pirates were only able to record four shots. It was the strong Buc defense that stopped the Wildcats from pulling out a win. Linfield shot 15 times throughout the game and thanks to Callie Bergstrom's (Sr., GK, Spokane, Wash.) heroics the Pirates kept the game at a draw. Bergstrom had five saves on the match.

This upcoming weekend the Whit women face one opponent, Willamette University on Saturday afternoon at home. During the week they will welcome Whitman College to Spokane on the 12th of October.
