Women's Golf Tied For Third After First Round Of NWC Fall Classic

RIDGEFIELD, Wash. – The women's golf team finished the first round of the Northwest Conference Fall Classic tied with Linfield for third place on Saturday at Tri-Mountain golf course.

The team finished the first round with a score of 357 on the par-72 course. George Fox finished the day with a 36-stroke lead over Whitman for first place. George Fox's Kelsey Morrison finished three-over par to lead the golfers after round one.

Senior Emily Guthrie finished the first round as part of a three-way tie for third place after shooting an eight-over par score of 80. Freshman Chelsea Bayley and Ashley Danforth are part of a three-way tie for 17th place, after shooting 91 in round one. Freshman Yvonne LaCoursiere is tied for 23rd after she shot 95 on Saturday, and freshman Cindy Tapia shot 102 to be part of a three-way tie for 28th place.

The team will have another shotgun start at 8:30 am on Sunday at the Tri-Mountain Golf Course.
