Eight teams will compete in Whitworth Invitational, hosted by the Whitworth women's golf team, at the Spokane Country Club this weekend.
Sunday's round will tee-off at 11:00 am while Monday the teams will tee-off at 9:00 am.
The Pirates: The women are coming off of a fourth place finish at the North Idaho College Invitational last weekend. Whitworth finished the two-day event with a team score of 1072. Lewis-Clark State College won the Invitational.
Senior Emily Guthrie finished the tournament tied for second place with a two-day score of 234. She was one over par in the second round, which was the best score of the round. Guthrie was joined by freshmen Chelsea Bayley, Yvonne LaCoursiere and Cindy Tapia.
The Competition: Whitworth will host fellow Northwest Conference teams Linfield, Puget Sound, Whitman and Willamette as well as Warner Pacific College, North Idaho College and Trinity Lutheran.
The Pirates have already competed against Whitman this season during their first competition. The Missionaries came in ahead of the Bucs, with team scores of 315 and 341, respectively.
Whitworth also saw North Idaho at last weekend's North Idaho Invitational, where the teams finished fourth and sixth, respectively. The Pirates' team score of 1072 was enough to finish ahead of North Idaho's 1113.
Next Up: The Pirates will travel to The Reserve golf course for the George Fox Invitational on October 6th and 7th.
