HAYDEN, Idaho – Senior Emily Guthrie shot a 75 (+1) in the second round to lead the Whitworth women's golf team at the North Idaho College Invitational at the Avondale Golf Course. The two-day tournament began yesterday and wrapped up today.
The Pirates finished fourth with a team score of 1072, coming in just ahead of the University of Great Falls. Lewis-Clark State College took first place with a team score of 950.
Guthrie led the Pirates with a two-day score of 234. Her 75 was the lowest score of the second round and she finished the tournament tied with Lewis-Clark State's Idah Whisenant for second place. Joining Guthrie in the tournament competition were freshmen Chelsea Bayley (262), Yvonne LaCoursiere (276) and Cindy Tapia (300).
Next, the Pirates will host the Whitworth Invitational at the Spokane Country Club from September 30 to October 1.
