Pirates Ready to Race at Husky Invitational
SPOKANE, Wash. – The Whitworth swimming teams will get their first chance to compete in a prelims-finals format this weekend when the Pirates race at the 64th Annual Husky Invitational. The meet will take place on Nov. 30 – Dec. 2 at the Weyerheauser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Washington.
Prelims start at 9:30 am each day with the finals sessions beginning at 6:00 pm on Friday and Saturday and 5:00 pm on Sunday.

Whitworth is one of 14 collegiate teams currently registered to compete in the meet. Other participating colleges include NCAA Division I schools like Oregon State and Univ. of San Diego, strong NCAA Division II programs like Grand Canyon and Alaska, Canadian powers from University of Calgary and UBC, along with many members of the Northwest Conference.
There will also be participants from US Swimming age-group teams throughout the Western United States.
The meet format will follow the same order of events which will be used at the Northwest Conference championship meet in February.
Following this weekend's meet, the team will not compete again until January 12th when the Bucs travel to NCAA Div. I Seattle University for a dual meet. In the meantime, the team will train over the course of December at the Whitworth Aquatic Center, including the annual Christmas Training session.
