McNaught Honored as NWC SAOW

SPOKANE, Wash. – Kinsey McNaught of softball has been selected as the Northwest Conference Softball Position Student-Athlete of the week for her performance during the week of Feb. 6-12. 

McNaught led the Pirates to a 5-1 weekend in California. In Whitworth's three double-headers, she had nine hits and batted .600 to lead the team in both categories. McNaught finished the week 9-15 from the batter's box, batting in one base runner, scoring five times, and stealing three bases. McNaught recorded two perfect games at the plate, going 3-3 and 2-2 in wins over Chapman and Whittier.

As the No. 2 hitter in Whitworth's lineup, McNaught had a terrific weekend in the Pirates' 5-1 week in California, leading the team in hits (9) and batting average (600). She drove in one run, scored five times, and stole three bases. She had three straight multi-hit games, going 2-4 in a 5-2 win at Whittier, 3-3 in a 6-4 Win at Whittier, and 2-2 with two runs scored and a steal in an 80- win over Chapman. She swiped a pair of bases in a 4-3 win at Cal Lutheran. In the field, she had five putouts and one assist.
