The Whitworth men's golf team travels to Whitman this weekend for the Whitman Invitational at the Wine Valley Golf Course.
The team will tee-off at 11:00 am on Sunday and 8:00 am on Monday.
The Pirates: The men return to action after last weekend's North Idaho College Invitational. Whitworth split the men into two teams for the tournament. Team one finished in sixth place overall while team two finished in fifth place.
Freshman Oliver Rudnicki shot 70 (-2) in the third round and finished the tournament tied for sixth place with a 222. Freshman Lyle Rudnicki finished with a score of 225 and tied for 12th place with freshman Stephen Thoen tied for 14th place with a 226.
The Competition: The Pirates will compete against seven Northwest Conference teams, which include Whitman, Linfield, Pacific Lutheran, Willamette, Puget Sound, Lewis & Clark and George Fox.
Whitworth has already competed against Whitman this season. The Pirates saw the Missionaries at the Lewiston Triangular in its first match of the season. The Bucs finished in second place with a team score of 290, while the Missionaries took third with a team score of 314.
Current NWC student-athlete of the week Taylor Klopp from Linfield, as well as Willamette's Ryan Kukula, who received honorable mention, will be among the pairings at this weekend's competition.
