Whitworth 10th in Final D3hoops.com Men's Basketball Poll
SPOKANE, Wash. -- Whitworth is ranked 10th in the final D3hoops.com men's basketball poll of 2011-12.
The Pirates finished ranked in the top ten for the third season in a row. The Bucs went 26-4 overall and won the Northwest Conference championship for the third straight season with a 15-1 record.
After winning a pair of games in the first two rounds of the national tournament, Whitworth advanced to the NCAA Division III Sectional Semifinals (round of 16) for the third straight year and fourth time in school history.
There were several individual honors in 2011-12: Felix Friedt and Idris Lasisi each earned All-Region and First Team All-NWC. Wade Gebbers was a Second Team All-NWC choice while Jack Loofburrow received honorable mention honors. Matt Logie was selected as the 2012 NWC Coach of the Year.
Friedt and fellow senior Michael Taylor conclude their four-year careers at Whitworth with a won-loss record of 103-15.
