SPOKANE, Wash. -- Emilio Sulpizio has been voted to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Division III Football Team, sponsored by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Sulpizio was named to the Second Team.
"Academics have always been such a major portion of my life," Sulpizio said. "It is a tremendous and humbling honor to be recognized for the hard work off the field as well as on."

Sulpizio is the first Academic All-American in football for Whitworth since Steve Honeyman was selected in 2006.
"Emilio has been an outstanding student-athlete," said Whitworth football coach John Tully. "This is a great honor for him and recognizes the outstanding work he has done on the field and in the classroom."
