Ramsay, who was named Northwest Conference Coach of the Year earlier this spring, has led the Pirates to their first NWC crown since 1991 and the team's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III tournament.  Ramsay is only in his fourth season leading Whitworth and the Bucs were picked sixth in the preseason NWC poll.

Pfeffer batted .393 in 40 regular season games, leading the Northwest Conference in home runs (11), doubles (17), RBIs (54), runs scored (44) and slugging percentage (.748).  He had previously been selected First Team All-NWC and is now a strong candidate for the All-America team.  Pfeffer has already hit his 12th home run of the season at the NCAA tournament to move into a tie for second on Whitworth's single-season home run list.

Scheibe went 5-2 with a 2.97 ERA during the regular season, also earning First Team All-NWC honors.  He had 78 strikeouts in 69.2 innings and added a pair of saves in 14 total mound appearances.  Scheibe has back up the selection by throwing a six-hit shutout in Whitworth's NCAA tournament opener against La Verne.

The trio of Pirates has led Whitworth to a school-record 28 victories so far this season.  Whitworth will continue its regional appearance with a game tonight (Friday) against 15th-ranked Trinity.
