NWC Student-Athletes of the Week

Week of November 26 – December 2
Whitworth had two student-athletes honored by the Northwest Conference as Student-Athletes of the Week. Freshman George Valle earned the men’s basketball Student-Athlete of the Week while junior Kate Duvall earned the Student-Athlete of the Week for women’s swimming.

Men’s Basketball
George Valle, G

Freshman George Valle led Whitworth to a pair of wins by averaging 20.0 ppg while making 65% of his shots from the floor. His 23 points at NAIA DI Montana Tech was an early career high for the freshman.

Women’s Swimming
Kate Duvall
Jr., Vancouver, Wash. / Hudson’s Bay
Junior Kate Duvall posted an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 2:06.30 in the 200 backstroke, which is also the best time in the NWC this season. Her 500 free time of 5:11.49 is also the best in the conference this year. Her time of 59.58 in the back was a personal season best.
