NWC Student-Athletes of the Week
Week of October 15-21
Whitworth had three soccer student-athletes honored by the
Northwest Conference as Student-Athletes of the Week. Junior Balin
Larson earned the defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for
men’s soccer while junior Andrew French earned the offensive
Student-Athlete of the Week for men’s soccer. Freshman Hannah
Bokma earned the offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for
women’s soccer.
Men’s Soccer
Balin Larson
Jr., Seattle, Wash./ Ballard/Bellevue CC
Senior Balin Larson earned the men’s soccer
defensive Student-Athlete of the Week honor for the second time
this season. Whitworth's defense allowed only nine total shots and
two shots on goal in a pair of weekend wins against Pacific (Ore.)
and George Fox. Larson led that effort from his center-back
position.
Andrew French
Jr., Lacey, Wash./Timberline
Junior Andrew French earned his first Student-Athlete of
the Week honor this season after a big weekend against Pacific
(Ore.) and George Fox.. French had a huge weekend with three goals
and an assist in Whitworth's two wins over the weekend. The
Pirates' two wins moved Whitworth within one win of clinching the
NWC championship.
Women’s Soccer
Hannah Bokma
Fr., Spokane, Wash./Shadle Park
Freshman Hannah Bokma earned her first Student-Athlete of
the Week honor this week. Bokma earned the honors after
scoring the game-winning goal against Pacific (Ore.) in overtime on
Saturday and then again against George Fox on Sunday. Bokma has
scored three goals this season, all of which have been
match-deciders.
