January Bruchi’s/Whitworth Athletes of the
Month
Women’s swimming sophomore Alisa Stang and
men’s track senior Chibron Tomeo have been selected by the
Whitworth sports information staff as the Bruchi’s Athletes
of the Month based on their performances during the month of
January.

Women’s Swimming
Over a three-meet stretch at the end of January, Alisa
swam seven individual events and on three relays. She won all
seven individual races and helped the Pirates win all three
relays. Along the way she led the women’s team to dual
meet victories over UPS, PLU and Whitman, helping the Pirates
finish 7-0 in Northwest Conference dual meets.
Chibron Tomeo, Sr.
Men’s Track & Field
Chibron cleared 15’-09” in the pole vault
event at the Washington State University Open, the Pirates’
first meet of 2013. Tomeo broke the previous school record of
15’-07”, which he set at the Vandal Open in 2012.
