February Bruchi's/Whitworth Athlete of the Month
Men's swimming sophomore Wes Tatum and women’s swimming junior Kate Duvall have been selected by the Whitworth sports information staff as the Bruchi’s Athletes of the Month based on their performances during the month of February.
Men’s Swimming
Wes Tatum, So.
Wes was one of Whitworth’s individual high-scorers
at the NWC championships, helping lead the Pirates to their
11th straight conference crown. He finished fifth in the
200 I.M., second in the 100 butterfly and second in the 200
butterfly – breaking a long-standing school record in the 200
distance. He was also on the winning 200 medley relay.
Women’s Swimming
Kate Duvall, Jr.
Kate earned Outstanding Women’s Swimmer at the NWC
championships after she won all three of her individual events (500
free, 100 back, 200 back) and was also part of three winning
relays. As part of the 400 medley relay, Kate helped set a
new Northwest Conference record. The Pirates rolled to the
NWC team championship.
