Why she chose Whitworth: I was planning on going to Pacific until the May 1st deadline but I just couldn’t commit there and I ended up choosing Whitworth. I figured out I really like the running program here and knew I wanted to be a part of it. I also wanted something totally different from my high school experience. I wanted a school that was Christ-centered and where everyone was uplifting me in my faith.
Favorite Part of Campus: The dorms
Favorite TV show/movie: Psych/ The Lord of the Rings
Favorite quote: “People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway. If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway. What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway. Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.” –Mother Teresa
What’s something people would be surprised to find out about you? I really like musicals, The Sound of Music, Mama Mia, Hairspray; I could watch them over and over.
When you have 30 free minutes, how do you pass the time? Take a nap.
What’s your schedule like on most days? Are you an early/late riser? Do you stay up late? Once it hits ten, I am no longer functioning at a normal level. I also can’t sleep in to save my life, which is extremely annoying.
What book can you read over and over again? The Hobbit, or any of the Lord of the Rings books. I’m a huge Lord of the Rings nerd.
What is one thing that you want to do before you die? Go on a really long backpacking trip, like over a month or more, in New Zealand or somewhere really awesome like that.
Name the last movie that you watched: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever eaten? I had frog legs and snails when I was in France. The snails just tasted like garlic and butter. It was the 5th grade and I remember getting yelled at by our trip leaders for playing with the frog legs.
How do you usually study (in total silence, go to the library, etc.)? I usually like to lock myself in the library; I have the attention span of a goldfish.
What is your biggest pet peeve? When people have to be right, I could really care less. There are 7 billion people on earth; your opinion is not worth my sanity.
