Mathew Johnson enters his sixth season as a member of the football coaching staff in 2012.  He is in his second year of responsibility for the Pirate running backs.  He helped guide Ronnie Thomas to the Northwest Conference rushing title in 2011. 

Johnson played wide receiver from 2001-2005 at Whitworth and graduated with a Business Management degree and also received his MBA. He was a two year starter.
