|Title:||ST Coordinator / Receivers / Recruiting Coordinator|
Jason Tobeck was retained and promoted to special teams coordinator by head coach Rod Sandberg in January of 2014.
In 20 years as the Pirates' receivers coach, Tobeck continues to develop players who follow in his footsteps as all-star receivers, including 2007 NFL draft choice Michael Allan (Kansas City Chiefs), who was a two-time consensus Division III All-American. During Tobeck’s tenure Whitworth has had 11 different receivers earn First Team All-Conference honors under his tutelage, including Jake DeGooyer in 2012.
A 1993 graduate of Whitworth and four year letter winner, Tobeck set an NAIA Division II record with 22 catches in one game against Willamette his senior season. He also finished second in the nation that year with 89 total catches, earning All-Columbia Football Association honors.
In addition to his coaching duties, Tobeck serves the football program as the recruiting coordinator and is also the official athletics department liaison to the college admissions department.
Tobeck graduated with a double major in elementary education and biology and is originally from Tumwater, Wash.
